Jamie Ross <jamie@richrelevance.com>

RichRelevance is looking for a contractor to help us create a server-side solution for a video conferencing service. This resource will be used first to facilitate video calls between workstations but then will evolve to connect H.323 compliant video conferencing systems like Polycom, Tandberg and Lifesize units. We are looking to adopt open source solutions like Open H.323 and GNU Gatekeeper with the linux server in our local datacenter. While this solution would primarily server a one-on-one video conference, we would want it to be expandable so it could bridge between multiple endpoints.

Canidate must have strong experience creating a server-side open source video conference system and have knowledge with the following applications:

Open H.323OpalVox GratiaGNU GatekeeperFree client-side applications like XMeeting and Ekiga

They must also be able to do a full hardware and bandwidth analysis of the proposed system and be able to map out how much resources are needed in order to fulfill the needs of the system while not compromising any other server or hosting functionality.

Networking and DNS skills are also a bonus for this type of deployment. After further discussion and clarification of the solution, the candidate must also give an estimate on how much work it will take to design, deploy and fully test.
