3 Research Positions – MultiMediaTechnology/Salzburg University of Applied Sciences

The degree program Multimedia Technology started in 2008 as a Bachelor- and (starting in 2011) Master Degree Program at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. The program is launching two research projects in the fields of realtime mixed reality/computer graphics and ubiquitious/pervasive computing/interface technologies.

*CADET*, the Center for Advances in Digital Entertainment Technologies deals with new technologies, interfaces and interaction methodologies in the area of mixed reality, brain-computing, mobile-, ubiquitous computing, and human computer interaction.

The Pervasive Entertainment Lab Salzburg (*PELS*) develops innovative games and interactive entertainment applications with a focus on the experience of the city and province of Salzburg. PELS is promoting innovative future regional, national and international projects in the fields of tourism, advertising, mobile marketing, education, health, art and culture.

*CADET Senior researcher*
=========================
Responsibilities:
* Applied research in at least one of the following fields: computer vision, realtime 3d, AI
* Implementation of a mixed reality framework
* Strategic- and conceptual development respectively positioning of the Center for Advances in Digital Entertainment Technologies
* Acquisition and execution of research and economic projects
* Active networking and exchange with the scientific community
* Supervising Bachelor/Masterthesis of students
* Teaching students of the Bachelor/- Masterdegree MultiMediaTechnology
* Scientific Publication

Profile:
* Finished university degree in computer science, mathematics or physics (ideally PhD level)
* Research interest and publications in one of the following fields computervision, realtime computer graphics, mixed reality
* Perfect C++ skills and experience in OO software design of complex software system architectures
* High social skills as well as didactic competence
* Perfect English
* Team player with coordination skills
* Vision, Creativity and out of the box thinking

*CADET Junior researcher*

Responsibilities:
* Applied research in at least one of the following fields: computer vision, realtime 3d, AI
* Development of computer games and interactive prototypes
* Documentation
* Evaluation of software and hardware components in the fields of computer vision and motion capturing
* Implementation of a mixed reality framework
* Execution of research and economic projects
* Active networking and exchange with the scientific community
* Teaching students of the Bachelor/- Masterdegree MultiMediaTechnology
* Scientific Publication

Profile:
* Finished university degree in computer science, mathematics or physics
* Research interest and publications in one of the following fields computervision, realtime computer graphics, mixed reality

*PELS Senior researcher*

Responsibilities:
* Applied research and collaboration on the implementation of software-frameworks in the area of interactive entertainment concepts in real and/or virtual rooms
* Active co-organization of the development and positioning of the “Pervasive Entertainment Lab Salzburg”
* Acquisition, grant application and management of research and commercial/business projects, attracting fundings (international co-operations and/or experience with EU projects desirable)
* Active networking (linking the lab to the scientific community)
* Supervising bachelor and master theses and 4 hours of teaching at the MultiMediaTechnology Bachelor/Master degree program
* Scientific publication
* Interdisciplinary cooperation with the partner degree program MultiMediaArt

Profile:
* Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related (technical/engineering), PhD desirable
* Research interests / publication list in one of the following fields: ubiquitous/pervasive computing, interface technologies, experience engineering.
* Several years of relevant non-faculty work experience desirable
* Educational skills
* Experience in the acquisition of third-party-funding desirable
* High social competence, enjoying to work with students
* Team player, strong organizational skills
