Job: Visual Communication Lecturer UMiami

The University of Miami School of Communication is seeking an experienced

infographics/data visualization practitioner to join the School’s faculty

as a lecturer beginning in the Spring or Fall 2011 semester. The successful

candidate will have exceptional university teaching experience,

award-winning media experience and a national or international reputation

in the field. Candidate must have a master’s degree in a related field of

study as well as appropriate professional and academic experience. A

combination of five years of fulltime academic or professional experience

is required. The ideal candidate will have experience with 2D and 3D design

and graphics applications including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and

Autodesk Maya (or similar software programs). The candidate will work with

the journalism and visual journalism faculty members to develop courses for

undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of web design, online

infographics and data visualization.



The position entails teaching up to six classes per academic year. Salary

is competitive and commensurate with experience.
