JOB: Freelance Opportunity/Exhibitions Computer Technician@New York Hall of Science

Exhibitions Computer Technician (Freelance)
Work Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays/8 hours per day

Responsibilities include:
– A daily examination and evaluation of all computers and AV components on exhibition floor;

– Repair of computer and electro-mechanical devices as necessary including reformatting computers, trouble shooting software, fixing control devices (like trackballs) and replacing audio and video equipment;

– Communicating the need for equipment replacement to director (i.e, researching info and specs for new equipment, making purchase recommendations, following up on orders).

Qualifications include:
– Proficiency in computer hardware and software systems including MAC OSX, Windows XP, VISTA and 7, Flash, Director (Max/MSP and Jitter desirable);

– Relevant skills include knowledge of:
Sketchup Pro
Audio Production Software
Adobe CS3

– BA required/Masters in relevant field a plus.
