Social Media / Web Communications Intern

The Actors Fund is seeking an intern to assist the communications department with their marketing and communications initiatives in three major areas:

  1. Maintaining, posting content and gaining exposure for The Fund’s social media outlets.  The Fund maintains social networking profiles, including Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and a WordPress bl.og.
  2. Organizing The Fund’s press/ media library: our extensive library of press clippings, photo CDs, DVDs of events, etc. needs curator to organize for easy access to content.
  3. Assistance in web content management for our main website, and help with developing our Auction of 1,000 Stars microsite.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in web communications and marketing for non-profit. Seeking a highly-motivated person, energetic, bright and a team-player – willing to pitch in and help with everything from web / social media content management, organize media library as well as office administrative support.

This position offers a friendly environment, and an excellent introduction into non-profit web communications and marketing.  Offering access to complimentary event tickets as available, a small stipend and monthly MetroCard.

DATES: October – December, 2010

BENEFITS: Excellent learning opportunity in the premiere US entertainment market, to work with a terrific communications team.  Tickets to special events, monthly Metro Card, $75 / week stipend.

HOURS:  15 hours / week. Minimum 3 month commitment.

REQUIREMENTS: Highly-motivated person, energetic, flexible, bright and a team-player. Knowledge of Drupal or another CMS. Experience with Creative Suite (CS4 or 5)   Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Basic computer and typing skills helpful (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point etc.).

Communications and Graphic Design Intern

The Actors Fund is seeking intern to assist with a high volume of graphic design projects.  The Fund produces an array of print and online materials for their many programs and services, events and fundraising initiatives, including e-blasts, advertisements, invitations, journals/programs, brochures, flyers, posters, newsletters, annual reports, cards and promotional materials.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in communications and graphic design for non-profit. Seeking a highly-motivated person, energetic, bright and a team-player – willing to pitch in and help with everything from updating graphic materials, re-designing projects and taking on full design projects, to support for content management for our website and office administrative support.

This position offers a friendly environment, and an excellent introduction into non-profit communications and marketing.  Offering access to complimentary event tickets as available, a small stipend and monthly MetroCard.
