Position: Visual Design Intern
Fair Observer, a Wharton media start-up, is looking for a creative Visual Designer. Fair Observer is in the pre-investment phase and building up its business. Website is a key channel for Fair Observer to distribute their content. Thus, development of the website is the top priority for Fair Observer now.
This is the time to join Fair Observer’s young website development team. Fair Observer has an immediate need for a Visual Designer to join their website development team.
Fair Observer is looking for passionate and entrepreneurial interns who are seeking to convert their knowledge into real life products.
This is the ideal role for a talented, creative designer with knowledge about print and web design; a talented expert in using Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator; a person passionate about designing an outstanding website, developing creative campaign concepts, creating strong brand ID; a design and creative obsessive perosn who is looking for a challenge to develop inspirational work that includes print and front-end web design; a creative thinker with ability to articulate creative ideas, through creating scamps, storyboards and concepts.
The intern must have:
Extensive and varied design knowledge & experience, with a fantastic portfolio that includes significant digital and/or print design.
Expert knowledge and experience of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
Flair for colour theory and understanding of palette choices, and comprehensive knowledge of typography/ fonts
Ability to produce high quality work quickly, accurately and to tight deadlines.
Ability to work as part of a small to medium sized team or on their own initiative.
Whilst by no means essential, proficiency in PowerPoint and Word would be a plus.
Desirable skills (but not essential):
Good knowledge of hand coding XHTML/CSS/JavaScript
A working knowledge of Flash / ActionScript and video encoding for web a bonus
