JOB: The Center for Fiction

Webmaster

The Center for Fiction is currently seeking a Webmaster. The Webmaster will be responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing the organization’s online presence; including (1) overseeing and thinking creatively about the Center’s website to assure quality and ease of use; (2) shooting, editing and uploading video, audio, and photos; (3) preparing regular email newsletters and other email blasts; (4) maintaining and updating the organization’s presence on social networking sites; (5) working with program staff and web editor to create and post content; (6) working with outside developers as needed; and (7) increasing traffic to the site. The site has a custom CMS, but coding skills are very helpful.

Position requires excellent design sense, knowledge of HTML, PhotoShop, FinalCut Pro, garageband, Imovie, and web optimization tools; excellent writing, communications, and organizational skills; ability to work both independently and in a team; and, above all, a love of contemporary fiction and the ability to think creatively and strategically. Candidates must have web design and maintenance experience, ability to work easily and well in MAC platform, and a willingness to increase PR and marketing skills. This is an ideal position for a creative and committed person with a willingness to make the site the best online resource for fiction lovers.
