Job Description

The Product Manager will play a key role in defining and delivering superior next generation products and experiences for WeightWatchers.com.
The Product Manager must be a product visionary and will approach product development in an innovative and flexible way, with a strong emphasis on data based recommendations and solutions. Candidates should be able to clearly articulate consumer needs and changing industry trends, while assisting with effective decision making. He/she will be able to drive projects from an initial brainstorm through to their final execution and monitor the product after launch for enhancement opportunities and maintenance issues. In addition, the candidate must have a strong desire and ability to lead in a dynamic environment and base their success on developing strong collaborative relationships.

This position reports to the Director, Product Development.

Desired Skills & Experience

Drive projects to completion by:

  • generating ambitious and well-designed product ideas based on consumer needs, competitive analysis and company strategy;
  • transforming business requirements into detailed product requirements;
  • developing key performance indicators to measure success;
  • acting as a stakeholder and subject matter expert;
  • reviewing work generated by internal teams in support of projects;
  • playing a key role in the QA process;
  • communicating all project aspects across stakeholder departments post launch
  • managing maintenance, bug ownership and enhancements to continue product success

– Indirectly manage large cross-functional teams while closely collaborating with functional leaders (e.g., Marketing, Creative, Content, Engineering) throughout the product definition, design and development phases.
– Partner with the Engineering team to ensure high quality, on time releases.
– Solicit feedback and quickly build consensus to drive decisions
– Monitor and report on the performance and opportunities of webite/mobile products to ensure that they remain competitive and well maintained.

– Analyze past projects and identify ways to optimize them.
– Ensure future product releases reflect experience and knowledge gained from customer discussions, usage analysis, usability, quality assurance and market research.
– Present product support/training to appropriate internal teams
– Partner with internal teams (ie, consumer research) to build support for new projects and ensure projects are successfully delivered
– Stay current on Internet and mobile technologies and emerging trends in the weight loss space

SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 years product management experience working on consumer Internet products required
  • Proven record of managing  successful internet product launches required.
  • Bachelors required
  • A strong aptitude for business strategy, and a strong sense for design and usability
  • A keen ability to understand and articulate priorities and make the right tradeoffs when necessary
  • Collaborative, nimble and flexible, with a knack for building trust and influencing others
  • An ability to work independently, while juggling multiple priorities, all with a drive to excel
  • Excellent writing, communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Possess a strong commitment to company values and the Weight Watchers brand
