Product Designer – Intern
Job Description:
The successful candidate will gather user requirements, design information architectures and interface designs, and conduct or direct usability testing. The Product Designer Intern’s work will be applied to the development of a wide range of products including web and hand-held based applications.
Responsibilities of the Product Designer – Intern:
- Make suggestions and design assigned pieces of UX projects and implement or assist in the implementation of basic mockups and static pages.
- Contribute to the layout, look and feel, and interactive behavior of your projects.
- Developing skills in information architecture, interaction design, and visual design, and becoming more familiar with our company’s design standards.
- Manage usability testing under guidance.
Anticipated Tasks particular to the Product Designer – Intern position:
- Maintain the Wireless Generation Design pattern Library
- Create a digital library of UX books
- Revive Usability Thursdays!
- Work on on content usability testing and design projects for various product teams like Burst or CAT
Requirements of the Product Designer – Intern:
- Working towards or holding a Bachelors Degree.
- 1+ years of experience developing interactive products as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer, or User Experience Designer. The candidate should be steeped in existing practice and methods surrounding user experience design.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proactive and creative problem solver with an intellectual interest in current and new technologies.
- Well-organized, with attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
- Experience in educational software and/or mobile devices is preferred.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology is preferred.
- Experience in generating functional prototypes is preferred.
