As we continue to expand into new showrooms, develop new products, and build our growing base of loyal customers this spring, we are looking to add a Technology Intern at our corporate headquarters and flagship showroom in the Flatiron District.
Role & Responsibilities
Alton Lane, like many successful startups, is both fast-paced and highly rewarding. No two days are ever the same. As an intern at Alton Lane, you will learn how to work within an entrepreneurial start-up environment. You will learn e-commerce technology from the ground up. Our Technology/DeveloperIntern will have the opportunity to work across all of the Alton Lane systems and make a significant impact from day 1.
You will be tasked with a variety of assignments, so the ability to multi-task is critical. Sample responsibilities could include:
Work on strategy of building out best-in-class technology platforms
Making code tweaks and incremental changes to our website: www.altonlane.com
Writing complex SQL queries
Doing analysis and creating metrics to improve internal operations
Application Requirements
Progress towards BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field
Exceptional programming skills in PHP
Demonstrated experience developing web sites using HTML, Javascript, MySQL and CSS
Extensive experience writing complex SQL queries
Magento and VBA experience a plus
Python/Django experience a plus
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Flash a plus
Exceptional eye to detail, a humble attitude, and the ability to drive results
Desire to expand with one of the fastest growing brands in the US
Compensation
We provide each intern with a small clothing allowance and subway card to reimburse to and from work. There is an incredible opportunity to impress us with your attitude, your work ethic and your results. This internship will last through August, with the potential to extend into a full time opportunity based on ability to drive results.
