Interface Engineer
Findings is looking for an experienced Javascript/HTML/CSS engineer. We want a self-sufficient, proactive developer who has a passion for shipping elegant, responsive web interfaces. You’ll be working from the application layer forward (server-side), working closely with both our UI/UX team, and our application engineers.
Responsibilities
- In charge of overall Javascript application architecture
- Write client-side code in Javascript, HTML, and CSS for modern browsers
- Implement new features and optimize existing
- Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
- Assist in the design of new functionality
- Delight users
Requirements
- Experience building consumer web application interfaces
- Strong Javascript (+JQuery)/HTML/CSS/Ajax coding skills
- Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
- Strong command of web standards, CSS-based design, cross-browser compatibility
- Good understanding of web technologies (HTTP, Apache) and familiarity with Unix/Linux
- Great written communication and documentation abilities
Python Engineer
Findings is looking for an engineer to focus on our infrastructure and backend application development. We want a self-sufficient, proactive developer who has a passion for reading, with a focus on creating lean and efficient Python code.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop core, backend software components
- Design and develop core data structures, and interfaces to them
- Application development using primarily Python on the Tornado web framework
- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
- Assist in engineering process (continuous builds, testing, release to production)
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Python and SQL
- Knowledge of Sphinx Search and SQLAlchemy a plus
- Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
- Experience with operating system internals, filesystems, server architectures, source code version controls systems preferred
- Experience in publishing or digital written content a plus
- Great written communication and documentation abilities
