Simon & Schuster seeks a Manager of Online Marketing to develop and execute title by title online marketing campaigns across imprints. Responsibilities include creative direction, design, and execution of special assets including websites, widgets, social applications, games, direction of custom video, and other unique digital content. Develop partner relationships with highly trafficked niche sites. Work closely with imprints to offer solutions within project and budget guidelines. Support online retail campaigns. Manage eBook consumer marketing initiatives. Author web marketing expertise – tasked with sharing knowledge of online marketing and social media with authors and publishers. Work closely between marketing, publishing imprints, publicity, and digital to communicate new initiatives and manage project development. Work with freelancers and outside developers.  Research and keep department informed of latest web technologies and new opportunities online. Provide innovative ideas to drive sales and awareness online, and explore new marketing venues for web-based outreach.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in online creative marketing with demonstrated success in content creation and viral web campaigns. Excellent project management and communications skills.  Passion for books, digital, social media, & online. Experience in designing for the web, with computer skills including Adobe Flash, Adobe Photoshop, HTML and CSS, PowerPoint, and video editing experience preferred. Interest in book publishing /entertainment strongly preferred. Creative thinker with grassroots online marketing experience. Familiar with eRetailer and eBook landscape. Very knowledgeable with social media, mobile, and cutting edge web technologies. Experience developing effective campaigns that increase sales. A sharp sense of lifestyle trends, media savvy, pop-culture and brands. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Proactive, driven, and marketing savvy. Experienced in creating compelling content for the web and leveraging for placement online. Existing relationships with premiere websites a strong plus. Full time position.
