THE GIG

The purpose of this position is to develop the user interface for our core product. This means the front‐end of wanderfly.com, as well as other components that interact with or relate to it (e.g., widgets). You will be working closely with our Director of Technology and Creative Director to bring the product to life. You will be responsible for everything from implementing page‐level structure/layout to building custom AJAX‐style controls to page optimization for SEO.

You’ve demonstrated first‐rate expertise in web development with a particular focus on interactive UI, have an impressive portfolio of past work, know the digital space inside and out, and are looking to join a group of people who will add as much value to your craft as you will to theirs.

THE STANDARDS

MUST be located in NYC and either a US citizen or permanent resident
2‐3 years experience developing cross‐browser‐compatible web applications in HTML, JavaScript and CSS
Experience working with best‐in‐class JavaScript and UI frameworks such as MooTools, jQuery and/or YUI
Working knowledge of other client‐side technologies (Flash/Flex) and server‐side web technologies (especially Java) and understanding of client‐server communications (e.g., web services/AJAX) is a major plus
Experience with HTML5 is a major plus
Proven ability to collaborate in a team environment to rapidly bring ideas to life online
Passion for brilliant design and user experience is a must; experience in travel industry is a plus
