On-Line Training Specialist
Driven by the recent adoption of a new teacher appraisal and development system, The Houston Independent School District (HISD) seeks candidates for an aligned Professional Support and Development Team. This team will transform the way the district delivers professional development to teachers in HISD, abandoning the one-size-fits-all workshops and instead focusing on providing teachers with training and coaching that is job-embedded, on-going, differentiated, and personalized. The Professional Development Specialist, On-Line Training will play a critical role in supporting this new approach.
The On-Line Training Specialist should possess:
- A strong background in web design, HTML, Flash and graphic design.
- An understanding of online learning platforms and the different learning styles of adults.
- Strategic thinking skills to recognize performance gaps among our workforce and devise technology-based solutions to address them.
The On-Line Training Specialist will:
- Design and create on-line learning objects working with a variety of content creation tools to meet the district’s training requirements.
- Manage the deployment of training materials to a web-based environment – including graphics, video, Flash, and HTML 5.
- Continue to learn new applications relevant to Web 3.0 capabilities.
- Update and vet existing on-line training modules and compliance platforms.
- Collaborate with technology department and other content creation teams.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years work experience, as well as experience working with Microsoft Office and office equipment.
HISD Pay Grade is 28, which is a range of $48,723-$60,904, depending on years of relevant experience and qualifications.
