INTERN: Motion Graphics, Reid Farrington NYC artist

A friend of mine, Reid Farrington, who I’ve worked with in the past and can say makes beautiful work and is an all around great guy, is looking for interns for his next multimedia performance piece. Graphic designer Interns needed for Fall 2011 by former WOOSTER GROUP Video Designer/EYEBEAM Resident Artist and current ABRONS ART CENTER Resident Artist

 

Would you like to help transform a standard 2D film into a three-dimensional theatrical experience? Interns will be able to help build the video score in our next performance installation, A Christmas Carol or Dickens: The Unparalleled Necromancer by using computer programs. Help is needed to digitally isolate characters in movies such as Alastair Sim, George C. Scott, and Bill Murray versions of A Christmas Carol, as well as The Muppets and Mr. Magoo variations (and many more). Ideal applicants will have experience with and/or a strong desire to learn Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Isadora, Jitter–Max/MSP, and DVD Studio Pro in our studio.

Positions begin immediately:

 

September–November — Studio Work @ Abrons Arts Center/ 3LD Art & Technology Center.

 

November–December — Stage Production @ Abrons Arts Center

 

Responsibilities include project and media management.

 

Must have a creative eye and an eagerness to learn.

 

College or graduate school credit given as compensation.

 

Scheduling is flexible.

 

If skills are already exemplary, work from home is also possible.
