We are currently accepting applications for a user experience design strategist. The successful candidate will be joining a world-class team of industry researchers with a wide variety of disciplinary backgrounds including social scientists, design researchers, interaction designers, human factors engineers, strategic planners, and technology innovators.

The qualified candidate will serve as the ultra-mobile platforms portfolio manager, one of several ambitious research and product initiatives underway at Intel. The candidates primary responsibility will be to lead IXR vision, strategy and activities around innovating the future of ultra-mobile platforms (Smart phones, wearables and other future platforms). As a portfolio manager, the candidate will be required to lead (but not manage) a team of designers, software engineers and social scientists towards defining and implementing a roadmap of experience opportunities for ultra mobile platforms. Exceptional dedication, communication and interpersonal skills are an essential part of this role. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to play an instrumental role in driving cutting edge ultra mobile experiences into Intels product teams for development. Recognized industry thought leadership, and experience leading design teams and/or evangelizing for experience driven innovation within a large corporate organization will be considered valuable assets for the position. Prior experience with ultra mobile platforms is preferred.

This is a full-time position, and salaries are competitive and will be commensurate with experience. Qualifications

THIS POSITION IS OPEN ONLY TO EMPLOYEES OUTSIDE THE INTEL MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS (IMC) ORGANIZATION.
Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelors or masters degree or PhD in design or a related discipline
-7 years experience as a practitioner and leader in interaction design / design management / design research
-2 years experience leading multi-disciplinary innovation teams

Preferred Requirements:
-Graduate degree (i.e., Masters or PhD) is preferred; BA/BS ok with appropriate job experience
-Significant academic work and/or professional experience in a secondary discipline (design-related, social/behavioral sciences, computer sciences, business, etc.) is a strong advantage
-Highly developed skills in visual design and concept visualization; aptitude for structuring information and interaction schemes
