You will take a role within EA University

You will join EAU (EA University) whose purpose is to transform how EA achieves its business results.  We accelerate the development of people, organizational transformation and business process change.  We are an interdisciplinary team helping EA not only be the industry leader but also a pioneer in the new forms of digital entertainment.  While we are intense, we also believe in having fun every day at work!

 

Profitable Creativity – why this is a good position for you and EAU

You will concentrate on leadership and organizational development that promotes the “profitable creativity” of EA.  That means fostering creative people building high quality entertainment in ways that lead to the best possible business results.

 

You will work with senior leaders within EAU and across the company.  You will develop yourself and your skills in program design and execution.  Given that you will be working with senior people and right in the middle of strategically important initiatives, you will grow as fast as your capabilities and motivation support. You will receive mentoring from EAU staff with senior levels of experience in the field.  This is a 12 month contract position.  Given that your contributions warrant and the right circumstances, there may be future opportunities for you at EA.

 

EAU has a track record of developing high-performing learning and organizational effectiveness professionals who have continued on in very successful careers.

 

Responsibilities

§  Support the design, development, and delivery of EA’s leadership development and organizational effectiveness programs.  You will especially concentrate on the following program areas:

o   Leadership accelerator programs – intensive development experiences for high potentials in the areas of business and studio leadership

o   Strategic action teams – innovation teams pursuing EA transformation

o   Business acumen initiatives that build the financial and business skills of EA managers

o   Business process change including EA’s game development process

o   Knowledge creation and transfer programs

o   Executive level organizational transformation initiatives (these evolve based on strategic needs of the company)

o   Across all of these programs, you will be involved in the design and delivery to the full extent of your capabilities

 

§  Manage logistics and operations to deliver a high quality experience to all the participants in these programs.  This ranges from the complex to the routine – but all needs to be executed with high quality levels

o   Operational responsibilities in this position are expected to average 30-50%.  At times, they will spike higher as we all work on program operations to deliver an event or program

o   Manage program calendars and participants

o   Coordinate events and program deliverables

o   Author and deliver participant communications

o   Produce materials (digital and hardcopy)

o   Analyze results, report progress, track budgets

 

§  Make us smarter and better – continuously improve our program operations

§               Partner with colleagues inside and outside of EAU to support program success

Experience and qualifications

§  Strong achievement orientation and desire to have an impact on EA people and programs.  A sense of humor is a plus.

§  Career interests in Learning, Organizational Effectiveness, and HR

§  Experience organizing and managing events

§  Strong planning, organizing, and execution capabilities

§  Proven capacity for personal productivity skills (either you have them or can get them quickly)

o   Personal organization and prioritization skills (for instance – approaches like “Getting things done” by David Allen or similar approaches

o   Proficiency in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel & Power Point

o   Flexibility and productivity in the face of changing priorities

§  Interpersonal effectiveness – work collaboratively and communicate well with all levels

 

Education required and provided

§  Bachelor degree required

§  You might have completed a Bachelor’s degree and be ready to accelerate your career.  This could be a stepping stone for your future

§  You might also be a graduate student (Masters or Doctoral) and in the process of completing a thesis.  This could provide you with internship or post-doctoral experience.  There are master’s and doctoral level staff in EAU.

§  EAU staff model an active learning orientation and you will have the opportunity to participate in the thought life of this community
