I sell used clothing online. We are starting with designer and vintage then expanding into all sorts of used clothing essentially becoming the worlds first/largest online thrift store.
- Understanding of how to build from scratch then scale an ecommerce site is def. the most critical skill
- The person should be technical…understand architecture…know how to code…should understand security..encryption…how to store cc info, etc.
- The person doesn’t need to be a UX designer but should be able to whip out a decent page based on the design template we have.
- There are previous few people who are excellent at design and coding. i realize that. u prob know a handful of them :)
- The person is working at a start-up that scaled or failed…with a transaction oriented biz.
- Someone who understands user experience. this person will know which things to add and how to add them.like – third party selling, the design, different ways of presenting the products online. the aesthetic of the site. An internal search engine, recommendation engine similar to pandora. manage the affiliate email program etc.
- They know how to get programming done well and cheaply,
- friends at other startups and their finger on the pulse of all thangs digital. (must be socially awkward, think they’re cool. and have spilled chinese food on the keyboard of their HUGE macbook pro)
- it would be a plus if they had an interest in ecommerce or clothing in general. i want them to have a passion for what they r doing beyond being motivated by $.
- and finally. i want them to be super smart. An unbelievable listener and not maniacal or stubborn.
