[GIG] DiMenna Children’s History Museum at the N-Y Historical Society

DiMenna Children’s History Museum at the N-Y Historical Society
170 Central Park West. Corner of 77th Street
“Bring your video camera and prepare for posterity! Thanksgiving is about family and every family has stories. Bring your favorite family story to share — then record it to take home as a treasured memento. A master storyteller will help you make a great presentation and share stories about important families in history. Then tour the DiMenna Children’s History Museum and make your storytelling debut in the Barbara K. Lipman Children’s History Library.”
For this event we have three positions available:

Storyteller and assistant: help families compose their 2 -3 minute stories using storyboarding to develop a script and rehearse.
Cameraman and Director: record and direct the family as they tell their story. (these are expected to be both a lot of fun and rough cuts)
Presenter: Add stories to the library setup as they become available. We will be embedding videos into a Powerpoint Presentation.

We will be using a xoom camera that will allow us to move SD cards between the recording studio and the Library. We will burn the movies to DVD for families to view at home.

Family Stories workshops are scheduled for November 25, 26 & 27, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM.
