Exhibition Research for Spacewar!: Video Games Take Off

Museum of the Moving Image is now accepting applications for an unpaid Exhibition Research internship, starting on or before December 15 and ending on January 16, 2012. Qualified candidates will be advanced undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Media Studies, Computer Science, Game Design, or a similar a relevant field.

Under the supervision of the Museum’s curatorial team, the Exhibition Research intern will complete a project related to the exhibition Spacewar!: Video Games Take Off, to open at the Museum in 2012. The intern will be responsible for writing game-play instructions for the exhibition, which will feature 40 playable video games. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and writing skills, a thorough appreciation of video games and game mechanics, and the ability to articulate a game’s objective using clear, succinct language.

Interns must be available at least once per week during the Museum’s office hours, Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Work can also be completed offsite. The Museum will provide access to all relevant games.
