About Weeels: Weeels, Inc. is a New York based transportation systems design, consulting, and development company. Weeels has won various transportation awards for its flagship product—Weeels Mobile, a real-time ride-sharing system deployed in conjunction with New York City car services in April 2010. These awards include a Smart Solutions Spotlight, awarded by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), in which the product was commended as a “tremendous example of how intelligent transportation systems can improve the efficiency of our transportation network” and the Best Overall Application Award “for excellence achieved in the creation of software to improve the city of New York” granted by the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in conjunction with the New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DOITT).

About the Prospective Applicant: Prospective applicants should be gracious, energetic, and responsible. Applicants should be enthusiastic about getting users excited about Weeels, listening to user feedback, and generally acting as liaison between users and the rest of the Weeels team as we launch our new mobile and web applications this December. Qualified applicants will have an engaging written voice, enjoy reading and responding to email and talking on the phone, be comfortable conversing with audiences via Tumblr, Twitter, and Facebook, and be really psyched about working for a New York Clean Technology Startup. Undergraduates are welcome to apply.

About the Work Culture and Expectations: We are a small team (5) working out of the NYU POLY NYC ACRE Incubator at 160 Varick Street. We’re casual and we work hard, and are good at learning as we go. You should be like us. You don’t have to come into the office all the time, but we’ll expect to see you at least twice a week.

About the Hours, Start Date, and Compensation: Applicants should expect to work 20hrs/week. We are willing to pay up to $15 for the right person. We are looking to hire someone before Christmas. We will be flexible about the 20hr stipulation in the month of December, and the first two weeks of January.
