Python/Django Developer
Freelancers Union is not-your-typical non-profit, and we look for not-your-typical employees. We’re a national membership organization that promotes the interests of independent workers through advocacy, information, and services. We are seeking a talented Python/Django Developer to create and maintain various online products and services. We work with a diverse set of technologies and our projects span multiple domains.
What you’d be doing:
You’ll be working on projects like:
- Social media projects
- Community-building tools
- Collaboration and communication platforms
Experience and skills you’d need to have:
- 5-7 years of software development experience
- 3-5 years of experience coding in Python
- Deep knowledge of the Django framework
- Comfortable with version control systems (especially git)
- Familiarity with the latest Javascript, HTML, and CSS technologies
- Database design experience using Postgres and MySQL
- Developing for the web, including working knowledge of HTTP, caching, sessions, etc.
- Developing in a Linux environment
- Administering web servers, specifically Apache or Lighttpd
- Deploy/release management experience a plus
Experience we’d like you to have:
- Deploy/release management experience
- Mobile development experience
- Experience in an Agile development environment
