We’re looking for New York-based interns who are passionate about leveraging insights to solve unique market challenges. As an Intern at SapientNitro, you’ll be working in a creative environment where you’ll learn from analysts, researchers, marketers and strategists, as well as designers, developers and account
professionals.
Our summer interns will be joining a company that has been lauded by Forrester as being the leader in the first ever Forrester Research, Inc. February 2012 report: “The Forrester Wave™: Global Commerce Service Providers, Q1 2012.” SapientNitro has also been cited as a leader in Forrester Research’s 2012 Wave Report: “U.S. Digital Agencies – Mobile Marketing Strategy and Execution.”
PROGRAM:
The SapientNitro NY Summer Interns will join a twelve week program from June – August 2012 and will be based in our New York office at 40 Fulton Street. You will be placed against one of the following domains dependent on experience and skill set. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of accounts and industries within each of these domains.
DOMAINS:
EXPERIENCE INNOVATION
The Experience Innovation Summer Intern will work with Experience Innovation group to produce thought leadership research pieces (white papers, videos, conference presentations, etc.) on Experience Innovation. The ideal candidate will also help to create infographics / data visualizations that illustrate trends and concepts in compelling and ways. You’ll be involved in all aspects of thought leadership and creative development; from design research, to user journey’s and use cases, to higher level conceptual/strategic frameworks, orchestration, and developing creative assets; mental models, story board, storytelling, video, prototyping, etc.
Requirements:
• Strong writing skills with ability to write for academic and business audiences
• Strong communication design skills. Must be able to design compelling infographics / data visualizations using Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, or other design tools.
• On top of trends in digital experiences, technological innovations, experience design
• Will be required to include an online portfolio including written research pieces (white papers, academic research reports, blog postings, etc. as well as samples of infographics / data visualizations as part of your application process.
PUBLIC RELATIONS MARKETING
As part of a top-notch global team of SapientNitro Public Relations and marketing professionals, the corporate marketing/PR intern will support the needs of SapientNitro’s corporate marketing group in North America. The candidate will help promote our work and our spokespeople through marketing channels, media relations, events, awards, social media, speaker circuits and internal communication channels. Other duties include supporting our business growth through monitoring and creating marketing collateral as needed.
Requirements:
• Background or interest in public relations, marketing, and advertising undergraduate upperclassman or MBA candidate in related marketing or communications field is preferred.
• Affinity for the web and digital technologies
• An eye for creativity and a passion for corporate branding
• Experience with social media tools (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc. required
• Knowledge of interactive technologies (e.g., HTML and design applications (Adobe Photoshop, In-Design is a “plus,” but not required
INTERACTIVE PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Our ideal candidate should have an interest in Interactive Project Management design and development for digital marketing products and services) and may have a secondary interest in marketing Creative Production. The iPM Summer Intern will have the opportunity to work with various members of the Marketing Services Line team and assist in the planning, management and execution of User Experience and User interaction projects across all digital channels websites, mobile and tablet apps, etc. The intern may also have the opportunity to work on campaigns for banner, website and app development, print and broadcast. The MSL intern will help create and execute project plans, assign and manage resources, coordinate and document meetings, and contribute to quality assurance for
project presentations and deliverables. For the right candidate, we would aim to tailor the internship to his/her interests.
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years of undergraduate study required; graduate student preferred
• Strong interest in management of digital design and production
• Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills and comfort interacting
• Affinity for the web and digital technologies and tools
•Experience with PPT, Excel required; aptitude for learning new technical systems and software, required
• Experience with social media tools (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) preferred
• Knowledge of interactive technologies (e.g., HTML) and design applications (Adobe Photoshop, In-Design) preferred
STRATEGY
Working side by side with all members of the strategy team, the candidate will be exposed to all facets of taking work to market. From understanding the business needs, to pulling insights from culture, consumer, category research, turning that into a big enough platform that can inspire great creative work, then layering in consumer engagements and analytics. There’s a lot to do in the strategy department as we serve many masters – the candidate must roll their sleeves up and dive in.

CREATIVE STUDIO
As a Creative Studio Summer Intern you’re focus will be as a Tablet & Mobile Experience Prototyper. As part of a multi-disciplinary Creative studio, the Tablet & Mobile Experience Prototyper will work on client projects designing and building out interactive experiences for tablet and mobile devices. A strong candidate is a big idea thinker who can execute on ideas rapidly and collaboratively. Candidates must be able to illustrate ideas using Photoshop, Illustrator, or other industry tools, as well as bring the idea to life through interactive prototypes. The intern should be on top of cutting edge prototyping trends and tools as well as interaction and graphic design trends.
Requirements:
• Passion for matching good design with innovative technology
• Strong visual and interaction design skills
• Ability to research prototype toolsets, ramp up quickly, and match the technology to the creative
• Must be able to design AND code
• Must be social-media savvy
• Animation or motion graphics background is a plus
• Will be required to include an online portfolio including written research pieces (white papers, academic research reports, blog postings, etc. as well as samples of infographics / data visualizations as part of your application process.

COMPENSATION
SapientNitro internships are a rewarding learning experience with the world’s most awarded agency in 2009. We are looking for college students who will earn course credit in exchange for internship participation. Upon successful completion of our program, and pending good performance, our interns will also earn a letter of recommendation and reference.
