data engineer
Codecademy is looking for a data engineer who is passionate about building systems to tackle large data sets and instilling a strong culture of analytics-driven experimentation across the Codecademy team.
Responsibilities:
Work on the data infrastructure and proactively make the quality of our data better and easier to access.
Build infrastructure to support the growth of our data.
Work with internal team members to capture and analyze new data.
Requirements:
Proficiency with the Linux / Unix command line, especially standard GNU tools such as grep, awk, sed.
Familiarity with joining data across multiple datasets.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL database systems.
Knowledge of either Scala or Java plus one scripting language such as Ruby, Python or Perl.
Experience with Hadoop is a huge plus.
