Employer: Children’s Cancer Association
Location: Portland,OR
Date Posted/Updated: 11/23/12
Job ID: 75737
Job Description:

Children’s Cancer Association’s Mission:

When seriously ill children and their families need more than medicine, CCA’s innovative programs create joy one moment at a time.

MusicRx at CCA:

Whether you’re making it, listening to it or sharing it, there’s something about music that has the power to heal. Music does more than just fill an environment; it transforms it. That’s why nearly two decades ago CCA created MusicRx®, an innovative in-hospital program delivering music medicine.

MusicRx calms and delights hospitalized children, teens, their family members, and the medical professionals who care for them by infusing the hospital environment with the healing power of music. Fueled by therapeutic music specialists and highly trained volunteers, our flagship program has been delivering bedside music medicine, hallway performances, and an interactive mobile music cart for 17 years.

Recently, CCA expanded the MusicRx experience to include MyMusicRx.org. MyMusicRx.org is an online portal that connects kids and teens nationally to the healing power of music 24/7. Young patients can register to receive free music and apps, play free online games, watch video greetings from their favorite celebrities, and connect with other kids and teens.
