Job Description
RAB’s Interactive Electronics team is looking for a full-time back-end developer to join us at our new Manhattan lab and help develop a top-secret and exciting new hardware+software system. You should have experience developing reliable web software in Python that connects databases, web services and user interfaces together. If I asked you to design your ideal website infrastructure, you’d be passionately opinionated about how it should be done!
RAB Lighting is a leading manufacturer of sustainable outdoor LED lighting fixtures, and my team exists to take this industry into the next century. You will have the opportunity to prototype and execute innovative and transformative ideas of how people interact with lighting and work alongside professional hardware engineers (oscilloscopes will be nearby)!
Our team is small, flexible and cutting-edge (hey, we’ve got motorized standing desks!), and located in Chelsea, Manhattan, and we’re able to offer relocation assistance. We’re fun, playful and ceaselessly inventive!
Skills & Requirements
- 3+ years web software development experience in Python
- Experience with Django and Tornado or similar
- RESTful API design & implementation experience
- Deployment experience on Linux
What’s in it for You
RAB offers a very compelling salary commensurate with experience and a complete benefits package (Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, 401k), education assistance (tuition reimbursement), catered lunches, and paid vacation, holiday and sick/personal days. Telecommuting is also an option once we’ve established a good workflow, though we’ll need to regularly meet at our Manhattan office. We’re serious about finding good people and treating them well!
