The Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi) at the University of Münster,
Germany is one of the top research centres in GI Science. Its research
draws from different disciplines including Computer Science, Geography and
Mathematics. Main research activities cover spatio-temporal modelling and
processes, semantic interoperability, cognitive engineering as well as
situated interaction and computing.
ifgi is currently accepting applications to its new Graduate School for its
structured PhD programme and a DAAD scholarship. Two out of four offered
topics have a strong link to HCI in general, and we explicitly invite
applicants with a background in this area to apply. Detailed information

Münster is an old city in the North-West of Germany, close to the Dutch
border and the North Sea. It was recently voted most liveable city in the
World, and has a large and diverse student population. Münster is also the
bike capital of Germany: there are more bikes than people, and the local
river tops all alphabetical lists (it’s called the ‘Aa’).
