Aside from web development, the Technology Department at Sub Rosa is steeped in a strong brew of other interactive technologies that cross from traditional screens into the physical world. Using Arduino, Node,js, Ruby, OSC, multi touch displays, hacked iOS hardware and whatever else we can get our hands on, we work directly with the creative team to augment physical and architectural design with interactive technologies.
Required Skills:
- 4-5 years experience developing standards-based, semantic and well-formatted HTML and CSS
- 3+ years experience working with Javascript and Javascript frameworks (jQuery & Prototype Preferred)
- Experience translating PSD comps and annotated wireframes into flexible, well thought out HTML Templates
- Excellent sense of aesthetic and motion
- Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues, from IE7 and Firefox 3.5 to all modern browsers
- Experienced with cross-browser development including mobile and understanding of responsive web Design
- Very comfortable with version control concepts and software (specifically GIT and SVN)
- An understanding of Ajax communications
- Strong knowledge of common social network APIs (Twitter, Facebook, Google Maps, Youtube, etc)
- Familiarity with Haml and SASS
- Solid experience with WordPress, Drupal and Ruby on Rails Platforms
Other Skills We Are Looking For:
- Communication via WebSockets
- Right at home working within MVC frameworks and CMS platforms
- Familiarity with basic server-side scripting structure and syntax (PHP, Ruby, Python, etc)
- Thorough understanding on how all aspect of the web works
- Comfortable working closely with a UX/IA team
- Knowledge of SEO best practices
- Always tries to improve, optimize and push the development process
- Interactive web agency experience
- No telecommuting
