American Express Interactive (AXPi) is responsible for creating the digital touch points used daily by millions of Cardmembers across desktop and mobile web, mobile and tablet apps, email and SMS. We define the strategy for the company, design, test and build the UI that weaves together journeys across the collection of digital experiences that make up the digital American Express brand.

The Mobile Product Management team in AXPi is looking for a Product Manager to be responsible and accountable for the product research and planning of key experiences in the American Express mobile phone apps. This Senior Manager role will review, research and analyze the design, customer experience and user interface for servicing features and functions in the smartphone apps while surfacing implications for the tablet apps and web. This role will also develop and test ideas outright to bring through the same process.

This role will interface with interested business partners, technology development teams, creative and research agencies, global brand, compliance, legal and privacy teams. This role provides substantial visibility across the company, requiring strong organizational knowledge, exceptional communication and influencing skills and demonstrable business and technical acumen.

This role will:

  • Create and field ideas for any servicing-related journeys in the smartphone apps
  • Analyze business needs across the blue box to ensure strategic alignment with AXPi
  • Assess levels of partner readiness by working with them to create user stories
  • Research the user stories from the UI to the backend, identifying all dependencies, cross-channel implications and needs, arriving at a final analysis of readiness
  • Deliver fully baked user stories to the product backlog for sprint prioritization and scheduling
Qualifications

You should have/be:

  • BA/BS required
  • 5 years interactive/capabilities/digital development experience required; Mobile experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills with a keen eye towards implications on the product
  • Ability to project manage in a fast paced environment with competing priorities, tight deadlines and ever present degrees of uncertainty
  • Unwavering customer focus with an understanding of customer experience
  • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies a must
  • Excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify opportunities and execute against them
  • Quick-thinking, personable, flexible
  • High energy and ability to have fun
