[TEACHING / JOB] Tenure Track Position in Interactive and Playable Media, Sarah Lawrence

Position in Interactive and Playable Media:

Sarah Lawrence College announces a tenure track appointment in Interactive and Playable Media beginning fall, 2014. Candidates should have a record of teaching beginning and intermediate students in individual and group study as part of a liberal arts curriculum. Requirements include a strong exhibition record, experience in independent and/or industry game and media development, at least three years of college-level teaching, technical competency in a range of software, and knowledge of contemporary art practices in new media. We are especially interested in candidates who are committed to convergence and to the use of interactive and gaming technologies to foster new modes of communication. These might include games, media for mobile devices, and other aspects of contemporary arts practices in digital and interactive arts.

In addition to excellence in teaching, our department values collaboration across disciplinary boundaries outside of the arts, and the pursuit of activities that involve the wider community, further arts and technology education, and raise the visibility of the program.

Required application materials include: cover letter, CV/resume, three letters of reference and an online link (or links) printed on a separate sheet of paper which we can use to access 10-20 examples of recent work. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2013 and will continue until the position is filled.
