[JOB / TEACHING] Curriculum Writers/Learning Experience Designers, Teaching Design, Engineering, Programming and Art to Kids

Freelance Curriculum Writer/Learning Experience Designers wanted to craft hands-on, maker-based learning experiences in Design, Engineering, Programming and Art for kids ages 6-15. We’re hiring people to design, write, and occasionally prototype learning experiences. This job does not involve any classroom teaching. We’re looking for passionate educators who can develop engaging, challenging, fun activities that will get kids hooked on learning by crafting, designing, building, hacking, and making.

You should have a substantial portfolio of your own creative, innovative tech-based projects to show. Expertise in one or more of the following strongly preferred: game design, robotics, automata, new interfaces for musical expression, physical computing, solar technology, programming/computational media, animation, 3D modeling, digital storytelling, movie making, comics and zines, paper engineering, puppetry, and wearables. The ideal candidate has strong writing and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for using technology creatively and playfully. Academic background in design, engineering, programming or art required.  Teaching experience and a knowledge of pedagogical approaches is preferred but not required. You’ll work primarily from home, in close collaboration with our staff. You can work remotely– you do not need to be based in NYC. We have an ongoing need for curriculum, and we pay per activity/write-up.
