BLDG 92 is seeking faculty nominations of student work for our next installation of Designing the Future. This program, now in its third year, offers an opportunity for students in NYC’s premier design programs to showcase their work and share their ideas with 40,000+ visitors annually—an audience that includes thought and industry leaders, trade professionals, Navy Yard makers and manufacturers, students, and more.
This year the program is particularly unique in that it will support our upcoming exhibit, Making it in NYC: the Era of New Manufacturing. Applicants are encouraged to take inspiration from the theme of “new manufacturing” (a one-pager attached) and submit work related to one of five key industry sectors highlighted in the exhibit: building & construction; furnishings & home goods; energy & resiliency; tech & media; fashion & apparel.
Qualified applicants will be invited to “Pitch Your Product” to a live audience and panel of judges comprised of business owners and industry leaders featured in Making it in NYC. The winners will then be featured in the Designing the Future exhibition case, adjacent to Making it in NYC.
All student work must be nominated by a faculty member. You may visit our website, here, for more information on Designing the Future and soon-to-be-updated information on Making it in NYC.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS APRIL 1
