PARTICIPATION BULLETIN
1.INTRODUCTION
Lago Studio is Lago’s creative soul. It is a workshop open to young talented people for
developing new forms of expression and innovative projects in communication, products,
furnishings and interior design.
Every year LagoStudio organizes various thematic
workshops where young creative designers are invited to attend from all over the world.
In our 2 week workshops we address our creative energy to develop new concepts for the new Lago
collection.
Participating to a Lago Studio workshop will allow you to join a community that collaborates 365
days a year.
2.OBJECT
The object of this call is to select 10 young talented people that are invited to have a
unique formative experience: a 10 day workshop at the Lago company where the
designers will work closely with the Company’s Creative Director and Technical Office.
After a specific briefing the workshop participants will develop design proposals for new
products in compliance with Lago’s mood and philosophy.
Following the results of the workshop the company reserves the right to develop projects that are
considered particularly interesting and should the projects eventually be produced
the company will give a financial award to the project’s designer.
Products designed during Lago Studio workshop and already developed by Lago are visible on
3.PARTICIPATION, REGISTRATION AND SUBMITTING APPLICATION
Participation is open to students and young professionals. Applying for the LagoStudio 2014 is
completely free.
You can register on our website www.lago.it/lagostudio by filling in the online form and by sending
your CV and portfolio projects in digital format (PDF, horizontal or vertical A4 format). The file
must not exceed 6MB.
4.MATERIAL REQUESTED
The form and relevant documentation may be submitted in either English or Italian.
Applications in other languages will not be taken into consideration.
The documentation required for the application is the following::
l Curriculum Vitae (2 A4 pages max)
l Portfolio projects, developed both at school and professionally
l In an appendix to the portfolio the applicant must declare that they are the authors
of the intellectual property of the projects they are submitting and that they shall
assume full responsibility should they make any false statements.
l Group projects are not admissible. All projects being submitted must be entirely
created by the author.
l Material that does not comply with the above-mentioned format and documentation
requirements will not be taken into consideration.
5.THE WORKSHOP
The first LAGOSTUDIO workshop will take place from the 30th of June to the 11th of July,
the second workshop will take place from the 21st of July to the 1st of August at the Lago SpA
company in Villa del Conte (PD).The students will be working closely with the Creative Director
and Technical Office and will be briefed at the opening session.
All the workshop expenses including the 10 selected designer’s meals and accommodation will be
paid for by Lago SpA.
The designers will only be responsible for the travel expenses to and from the Padova workshop.
6.JURY
The 10 workshop participants will be selected by a jury made up of personalities from the
world of design. It will be chaired by Daniele Lago, the Creative Director at Lago SpA.
The jury will assess the candidate’s portfolios focusing on aspects such as product innovation,
compatibility with the Lago style and the proposal’s maturity.
The jury’s decision is final and cannot be appealed. A merit list will be produced and the first 10
classified will be immediately contacted by Lago SpA for admission to the workshop. Should there
be a cancellation amongst the chosen candidates we will proceed in contacting the candidates that
are next in line.
The official list of those participating in the workshop will be published once all ten designers have
confirmed their participation.
7.CALENDAR
• 18 May 2014 – Application receipt deadline (H 24:00 Italian time) for the 1st workshop.
• 25 May 2014 – Application receipt deadline (H 24:00 Italian time) for the 2nd workshop.
• 06 June – Publication on line
• 30 June to 11 July – First workshop at Lago in Villa del Conte (PD)
• 21 July to 01 August – Second workshop at Lago in Villa del Conte (PD)
8.PRIVACY, COPYRIGHT AND ROYALTIES CLAUSE
The rights to publish the material developed during the workshop will belong to Lago SpA
for 24 months starting from the date in which the workshop ends.
Lago SpA also reserves the right to select one or more projects developed within the
workshop and to develop them with the aim of possibly producing them and placing them
on the market.
Authors whose projects are produced and placed on the market will receive
a financial prize, based on a contract signed prior to the start of the workshop.
9.POSTING OF THIS NOTICE
This notice is posted on the www.lago.it/lagostudio website.
All information regarding this notice, the workshop and the Lago company are available to
designers on the www.lago.it website.
