Job Posting: Computer Programmer
Seeking Computer Programmer for a new performance project by Annie Dorsen.
Project:
A music-theater project using genetic algorithms, pop songs, and live singers.
Programmer will work closely with an international team of artistic collaborators
including Dorsen (Director), a composer, music engineers, and lighting designers.
Qualifications:
Programmer should be experienced with genetic algorithms, in particular with their
application in music and conversant in python. Some familiarity with Max MSP a plus.
Must be available for residencies and performances:
New York: September 1-10, 2014 + two weeks in March/April 2015 (exact dates TBC)
Europe: January 19-31, 2015 + 3-4 weeks in May/June 2015 (exact dates TBC)
The work premieres in Holland in June 2015, travels to Oslo and Paris in fall 2015, and to
NYC in January 2016, with other performance dates TBC through spring 2016.
Programmer will work with the collaborators during residencies, and remotely, to build
the program for the performance. This is a paid position.
