[JOB] Interaction Designer, IPG Media Lab

We are currently seeking an Interaction Designer to join our New York team.

As an Interaction Designer, you’ll be making the complex simple. Your projects will focus on smoothing out existing interactions and inventing new ones. Design turnaround time will be days to weeks and you will keep projects moving quickly through the pipeline. You will be juggling multiple projects and will need to stay on top of tight deadlines in a high velocity environment. You will also need to balance input and feedback from multiple stakeholders. It is absolutely essential that you have a passion for highly creative user-centric design with an ability to pay close attention to detail and deliver work at the highest quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Design to satisfy the needs, wants and goals of people
  • Leading usability research and testing
  • Working closely with designers to create user flows, storyboards and wireframes
  • Deliver a seemingly endless supply of solutions for problems at hand
  • Concept interactions across mediums: web, mobile and email
  • Collaborate and communicate professionally with clients and internal teams

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of Interaction Design experience on B2C applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design or a related behavioral science discipline
  • In depth knowledge of UI design processes and methodology, particularly as applied to mobile, web applications, and consumer electronics
  • Mastery of standard design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, OmniGraffle / Visio)
  • Mastery of design patterns and limitations of web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Mastery of design patterns and limitation of mobile platforms such as iOS and Android
  • Excellent information visualization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (ability to effectively sell an idea)
  • A portfolio demonstrating your superior UI design skills (provide sample URLs or an online portfolio)
