Position Summary:
Arts and Science has an exciting opportunity for an Educational Technology Specialist with a passion for using multimedia and creative technologies to advance teaching and learning. This motivated professional will collaborate with faculty on the development of engaging learning experiences delivered online and in-person. Evaluate and advise on current and potential tools and instructional design approaches appropriate for innovative teaching and learning. Create and deliver workshops for the community.
Qualifications/Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Education:
Master’s in educational technology, interactive technology, or a related field.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination designing and implementing interactive experiences for hybrid and/or online learning environments at the college or university level. Experience applying instructional design principles and pedagogical best practices for increasing learner motivation and active learning. Evidence of advancing knowledge through targeted professional development efforts.
Preferred Experience:
Demonstrated use of integrating technology into teaching and learning initiatives. Facility communicating technology uses to both specialists and non-specialists.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:(include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Intermediate knowledge of Word, internet browsers, data, image, and sound processing software. Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:(include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Experience teaching informally or formally within higher education. Experience with eLearning authoring tools, social and collaborative tools, web development, and/or digital video/audio production software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-starter with the ability to work in a team-based atmosphere with high standards for quality and creativity. Experience with disciplinary trends such as maker initiatives or video games for learning a plus.
