Spring 2015 Internship Program at MoMA

 

The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2015 Internship Program.

 

Description:

The Spring 2015 Internship Program provides participants in-depth exposure to the workings of individual departments and practical and theoretical training in museum practices, and acquaints them with the role of museums in contemporary society. Working under the supervision of one of the Museum’s professional staff, interns contribute to timely projects, gain insight into the functions of individual departments, and learn about the Museum’s various collections, exhibitions, and programs for visitors.  Internship projects are based on Museum needs and requirements and are assigned to interns with the appropriate skills and interests.  This unpaid internship runs from January 27 through April 24, 2015.

 

Eligibility:

College students (one must have a minimum of one and a half years of college completed by January 2015), recent graduates (both B.A. and M.A.), graduate students, and beginning museum professionals.  The Museum encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines to apply.  Spring internships require a minimum commitment of two full days per week, one of which must be Tuesday.

The application deadline is October 20, 2014.  Complete applications include 1) Completed application form 2) Résumé/Curriculum Vitae  3) One essay  4) One letter of recommendation, from an academic or professional reference  5) Transcripts of undergraduate and graduate records (Please note that we accept either official or unofficial transcripts).
