Digital Learning Manager
The After-School Corporation (TASC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing all students
with expanded learning opportunities that support, educate and inspire them. In its second decade,
TASC developed and is implementing ExpandED Schools, a re-invention of the traditional school
day, in New York City, Baltimore and New Orleans. By giving kids in public elementary and middle
schools more time and a wider range of opportunities to learn, we offer a promising way for
educators and communities to redesign schools, restore arts, sports, science and other endangered
subjects and provide critical support to kids living in poverty.
Within TASC’s Operations team, the Digital Learning Manager will play a critical role in developing
and advancing TASC’s strategy to use technology in expanded learning and after-school settings.

This is a temporary, grant-funded position with the possibility of continuation pending grant
renewal. The position may be structured as full-time or part-time (at least 24 hours per week)
depending on the candidate. Over an initial three month engagement (November –January), the
1. Prepare for the launch of Connect2Tech, a partnership between TASC and Google:
a. Liaise with a technology partner to redesign curricula for use by middle school after-
school educators to roll out Coder for Raspberry Pi and CS First clubs,
b. Conduct technology audit, classroom and network feasibility testing in collaboration
c. Identify and select pilot schools to participate,
d. Write a Coder for Raspberry Pi start-up guide, and
e. Develop and deliver professional development.
2. Brief TASC staff on current trends in education technology that may benefit our programs.
3. Work with TASC staff across departments to understand TASC’s programs, how technology
is currently used and challenges to better use of technology for students and educators.
4. Write a report about opportunities and next steps TASC should take to advance its
Qualifications and expectations of the role:
 Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or higher strongly preferred
 A minimum of three years professional experience
 Proven track record in blending technology into curricula in an education setting
 Exceptional written and oral communication skills; experience providing training a plus
 Excellent interpersonal skills, judgment and diplomacy
 Ability to work independently and as part of team
 Highly motivated and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
 Willingness and ability to travel within New York City (approximately 20%)
