[GIG] Electronics for Furniture Designer

Contact: Martin  martin@nbmillwork.com
I’m looking for someone who’s versed in electronics and microcontroller-coding to help with a product that will be an aftermarket replacement for the standard apartment intercom box (3-5 wire units produced by manufacturers such as Tektone, Pacific Electronics, Mirtone, Graystone, and Jerone) which will add functionality as well as aesthetic appeal. Specifically, I’m looking for someone to help design circuit prototypes and eventually a circuit board that would end up in the final product. While I’m confident about the aesthetic and production oriented work, the electronics and coding (though fairly straight forward) are something I’d have trouble getting my head around, and prefer delegating to someone with a keener interest.
The basic functions are those of an ordinary call box…a momentary button is pressed to TALK, LISTEN, and open the DOOR for someone waiting in the vestibule downstairs. What I would like to add are two to three standard MP3 tones to replace the awful vibrato buzz you generally find. Optimally, I’d also make it possible for owners to post tones they have written to a dedicated forum where they could be shared with others and uploaded to their machine. This creative/community building twist is something I’m really excited about including. I’ve spoken to a couple of sound artist-composer friends who are already interested in writing tones.
Due to my naivety, I may be misusing terminology, but the basic concept should be clear. It’s preferable that respondents have knowledge and access to resources for printed circuits as well as electronics buttons, wiring, etc. Thanks for  your consideration.
