[INTERN] Art/Design/Tech/Entrepreneurship, NEW INC – Winter/Spring

NEW INC is looking for interns this Winter/Spring with a range of skills and an interest in art, design, technology and entrepreneurship. The ideal candidates are passionate about working with cutting-edge cultural producers, interested in exploring new models for sustainable creative practice, and excited about developing a growing community and collaborative workspace.

NEW INC is a brand-new initiative with a small team and a vibrant community that’s working on inspiring projects. Participating interns would play a key role in helping build and shape this new program and would have an opportunity to get hands on with everything from day-to-day operations, community building, professional development, as well as blogging and social media.

ABOUT US:

NEW INC provides a collaborative space for a highly selective, interdisciplinary community of one hundred members to investigate new ideas and develop a sustainable practice.

ABOUT YOU:

We are looking for interns who are driven, organized, punctual, sociable, confident, and can follow through with ideas, research, and projects.

1.     Writing / Social media

2.     Event production

3.     Business Development

4.     Fabrication / Hardware

5.     Video and postproduction

6.     Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects)

7.     Community organizing & development

8.     Designing for social spaces

THE JOB & THE PERKS:

Our interns have a range of responsibilities from helping us with our day-to-day operations to working with us on individualized creative projects that benefit our members and the overall community.

In addition to working with a fantastic, tight-knit team, our interns will be involved in the behind the scenes of how a creative incubator space runs while working in a highly selective environment of diverse, collaborative professionals.  Moreover, our interns gain privileged access to our professional development programming that is otherwise only available to our members.  As a new program, the projects we develop with our interns are evolving rapidly and we look forward to collaborating with the people we bring on to work with us. We are looking for a commitment of 2 days/week for the Spring.

We will be interviewing our potential candidates early next week (Monday and Tuesday), so we will have a very fast turnaround.  We will work with students who are looking for academic credit for this internship.

If you would be a good addition to our community, please email your CV/resume and an informal cover letter (in the body of your email) by this Sunday, February 8th at 12PM tokerry@newinc.org and sheiva@newinc.org.
