SOFTWARE ENGINEER / CREATIVE CODER

We are a dynamic, fast-paced technology invention team integrating design and engineering to develop new product propositions in the play and social space.
Our ideal internship candidate is a student enrolled in a Masters or PhD course with a background in computer science, software engineering, games engineering or creative coding.
The individual needs to be able to design and innovate with code, build functional software prototypes, thriving on blending many crafts to create holistic experiences. A passion for engineering and the desire to work in a multi-disciplined, team-oriented environment is required.
The software engineer / creative coder intern will:
– Build new and innovative software applications for quick prototyping and production purposes. Have the experience developing software from high level requirements with minimal supervision.
– Have experience developing for some or all of the following environments and platforms:
- Unity, including 3D or games development
- Windows 8 apps in C# and XAML-related UI technologies
- Java
- Firmware development for embedded systems
Bonus Skills:
- Graphical User interface design
- Familiarity with Android and iOS development
- Tinkering with hardware ad-hoc to refined:
- Working with off-the-shelf kits and boards including Arduino or Mbed
- Soldering custom circuits
- Designing custom PCBs
- Experience with 3D modelling, 3D printing, model making
