Schema is looking for a rockstar coder with design and creative thinking skills to join our team in Seattle, WA.
The Creative Technologist is responsible for concepting, prototyping, and building digital tools and experiences. The position will work closely with the design team on a wide range of projects, from web and mobile applications to large-scale interactive media installations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for data visualization and emerging technologies. They can think critically, code quickly, and make products and experiences that work. Curious and forward-thinking, they are interested in contributing to Schema’s ongoing research at the intersection of design, technology, and culture.
The Creative Technologist will work at our offices in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary, award-winning design team with innovative clients.
Qualifications

Undergraduate or graduate degree in Interaction Design, Computer Science, Visual Communication Design or related field.

2+ years of applicable professional experience.

Experience with UI/UX design.

Experience with data visualization design and knowledgeable about current thinking and trends.

Fluent in web languages and technologies (e.g. HTML5, CSS3, LESS/SASS, Javascript, jQuery, D3.js).

Experienced with creative languages like Processing and Open Frameworks.

Experienced in writing and deploying web applications with Node.js.

Familiar with single-page frameworks (e.g. Backbone.js or Angular.js)

Ability to balance multiple projects in a scrappy, start-up atmosphere.

Excellent communication skills.

Familiarity with design tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign is a bonus.
