Call for Submission: ‘Wearables for Good’ Design Challenge from UNICEF, ARM and frog
[Deadline: 4 August 2015]
UNICEF, ARM and frog have a question: could you create the wearable and sensor technology that could save people’s lives in resource constraint environments?
We are calling all developers, designers, community partners and problem-solvers with a passion for social good to identify and develop innovative solutions in the wearables and sensors spaces that use technology to save the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children. Ideas must be built with scale, resource constraints, and affordability in mind.
Most wearable technology is still in the fitness and well-being space, but their potential extends to life-enhancing and life-saving applications. UNICEF, ARM and frog are challenging anyone — from any background and anywhere in the world — to create innovations that are not just nice to have but are things that people in developing countries need to have.
Imagine creating a wearable device that could solve problems in Health, Education, HIV/AIDS, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Child Protection or Social Inclusion.
Ready to take on the challenge? Visit: http://wearablesforgood.com/ for more details and to submit your entry.
* All entries and all accompanying materials need to be in English, but the product, app or service itself can be in any language. We encourage entrants to provide local and multilingual support whenever possible. Entrants can submit more than one application per team, but only two winners will be selected overall.
