Digital Marketing Associate

Develop and implement marketing initiatives that support prospective student lead generation, admitted student yield, and social media engagement with multiple Steinhardt audiences. Contributes to the planning and execution of digital marketing efforts. In collaboration with external ad agency and Marketing Director, develops and reviews campaigns that may include paid search, promoted posts on social channels, display and video ads, online listings, and retargeting to help recruit top-quality students to a range of Steinhardt degree programs. Manage the promotion of special academic offerings, including summer non-credit workshops and short-term study abroad programs. Create engaging written and visual digital content (articles, infographics, etc.) related to select degree programs and program areas to help grow NYU Steinhardt’s web traffic and drive prospective student awareness. Serve as the principal voice and content generator for Steinhardt’s top-level social media channels, which currently include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Foster engagement with a variety of Steinhardt audiences including prospective and current students, parents, scholars, and alumni. Evaluate emerging social media tools, technologies, and trends for potential use, and supports and train School departments, offices, and programs in their social media initiatives. Monitor, measure, and report on social media efforts.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media studies, journalism, public relations, English, or a related field.

Preferred Education:
Master’s degree.

Required Experience:
Minimum 3 years of related experience; proven track record of developing successful digital marketing and social media strategies.

Preferred Experience:
Work experience in higher education or non-profit marketing/communications.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Creative, ideas-driven thinker; self starter; passion for digital marketing and social media. Proven experience with and knowledge of a variety of digital marketing technologies and social media monitoring and measurement platforms. Collaborative and consultative work style; strong partnering and relationship-building skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong oral and written communication skills. Organized, detail oriented. Able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Basic image and video editing. Proficient in social media management software such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, and Tagboard.
