JOB: Program Manager, Onsite Program Manager, RoboFun

RoboFun | Vision Education is 19  years old and we help kids engage, explore and solve problems with cool technologies.  We are looking for two dynamic, engaged individuals to work with our team full time. Each position involves managing programs that we are running both in schools and on our site at 102nd Street and Broadway. We’re looking for intelligent, team oriented, individuals who can own and grow within the position. Ideally someone who has taught, has the heart of an educator and interest in working in a entrepreneurial fast past environment.

Position Title: Program Manager (Fee-Based)

Overview

RoboFun | Vision Education & Media provides exciting, hands-on programs using emerging

technologies for PK-12th grade youth. We ignite kids’ passion to explore and solve problems as they

learn to invent, build, code, and collaborate. Our students build and program LEGO® robots, solder

DIY electronic projects, create and code video games, shoot stop motion animations, and design web

pages.

Job Summary

The Program Manager will manage all programs fee based programs that run at schools throughout

NYC. This incudes: after school, in school, and some weekend programming and special events. The

Program Manager will support sales and marketing initiatives, including social media, print, and digital

advertising campaigns. Alongside the other two managers, the Program Manager oversees a team of

around 40 part-time teachers.

The Program Manager reports to Director of Operations and works closely with the CEO, and seven

other full time staff members. Work schedule is generally 10 AM-6 PM, Monday-Friday. Schedule

flexibility is required to facilitate programs and oversee projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy working

in a creative, fast paced environment where he/she has the opportunity to design and manage their

own division of a growing company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management

• Manage a team of 2 – 10 staff members to make all fee based programming run smoothly.

• Manage all aspects of programs with the goal of increasing revenue.

• Effectively manage communications with relevant stakeholders.

• Be a highly informed advocate of all RoboFun programs.

• Master our curricula and support curriculum development for our programs.

• Track financial records for programs and events.

• Support marketing initiatives as needed.

Staff Management

• Supervise and support 30+ part time teachers.

Working with other program managers, facilitate technology trainings and professional

development sessions for teaching staff.

• Curate database of education resources for teachers.

• Work with Recruitment Manager to find staffing holes, conduct interviews, oversee teaching

demos, and assign potential teacher candidates.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience in teaching and managing programs with

children. Experience in traditional, non-traditional, or supplemental education required. Excellent oral

and written communication skills are required, as are a friendly and personable demeanor. Must have

the ability to delegate and manage staff effectively. Superior ability to influence and negotiate with

diverse stakeholders with tact and tenacity. Attention to detail and strong follow-through is essential.

Must have a demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects efficiently and

independently in a rigorous team environment. Customer service experience a plus. Experience with

the DOE a plus. Must be passionate about RoboFun’s vision and mission. The ideal candidate has a

business mind and a teacher’s heart.

incudes: after school, school day, weekend, and vacation programs. It also includes our onsite

summer camp, birthday parties, private lessons, and special events. The Onsite Manager will support

marketing initiatives, including social media, print, and digital advertising campaigns. The Onsite

Program Manger has one full time direct report at this time, and we anticipate one to three more in the

coming year. Alongside the other two managers, the Onsite Program Manager oversees a team of

around 30 part-time teachers.

The Onsite Program Manager reports to Director of Operations and works closely with the CEO, and

seven other full time staff members. Work schedule is generally 9 AM-5 PM, Tues-Sat. Schedule

flexibility is required to facilitate programs and oversee projects. The ideal candidate will enjoy working
