JOB DESCRIPTION – FREELANCE -P/T SOLDER TECH

We love technology and creativity. We seek a sharp and nimble Solder Tech to join our team on a contract, P/T basis as we design and develop the first real-time location platform for groups — no phone, cell network, wifi or map required.

Timing:
Immediate

Location:

New Lab, located in the Brooklyn Navy yard.

Rate:

$25 – $35/hour

Duties:

  • Solder surface mount components (fine-pitch QFN, DFN, 0201 passives etc.).

  • Perform visual inspection of PCB’s to ensure internal standards of quality.

  • Reflow and rework 0201 and leadless components easily.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience soldering surface mount components, particularly 0201 passives and leadless (QFN, DFN, etc.) packages.

  • Experience inspecting surface mount components using a microscope.

  • Good working knowledge of ESD safety procedures.

  • Expected to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials (BOM) and assembly drawings.

  • Expected to communicate well in English both verbally and in written format.

  • Component identification ability required.

  • Candidates should be very organized with the ability to keep count of parts.

  • Candidates should have the ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
