I wanted to let you know about a Fellowship program running this summer that ITP alumni may be interested it. You may have already heard – hard to tell exactly how information travels thru the NYC tech community! – but applications for the Blue Ridge Labs @ Robin Hood summer Fellowship program are open now until Feb 27: https://labs.robinhood.org/fel lowship/
The Fellowship is a 5 month paid program where ~15 tech folks and subject matter experts come together to prototype tech solutions to social problems, particularly problems affecting New Yorkers living in poverty. This year’s challenge area is supporting the elderly and their caregivers. ITP’s transdisciplinary focus might make your grads a particularly good fit, especially since eldercare presents a good opportunity for hardware-assisted products.
There’s an open house for prospective Fellows at the Blue Ridge Labs office here in Brooklyn at 150 Court St next Thursday, the 16th. I’m also happy to chat about my experience with anyone interested – I was a Fellow during last year’s cohort, during which my team founded community.lawyer. Community.lawyer is an online legal directory where clients with modest incomes can find attorneys who scale their fees based on ability to pay.
