Design
The Opportunity
- Join a growing community of UX & Product Design practitioners dedicated to making buying toys and baby goods more than just a transaction but an exceptional and memorable experience that elevates the brand
- Help transform & optimize the Product Management practice within the Toys & Babies “R” Us organization
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team using agile design methodologies to deliver experiences across desktop, mobile and Apps
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop Insights – Inform design thinking by analyzing online and offline customer behavior, audit competitor and comparative offerings, support usability testing
- Think & Inspire – Help articulate a vision for meeting business and consumer needs and bring ideas to life using paper, whiteboards and digital tools
- Collaborate – Work with Marketing and Merchandising groups in conjunction with your team of Product Managers, UX Designers, Front-End and Back-end Developers to iteratively design solutions to business-critical challenges
- Educate – Make the organization and your peers smarter regarding design best practices, methodologies, tools and emerging trends
Sr. User Experience Designer
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience designing desktop, mobile or web applications
- Is experienced designing complex or transactional interfaces (e.g. Retail, Finance)
- Understands content strategy concepts (e.g. information architectures, taxonomies, ontologies and facets) and how they impact user experience design
- Is an analytical thinker who is adept at expressing themselves visually
- Has the ability to prioritize and transform insights and requirements into simple, intuitive user flows and interfaces
- Is proficient in one or more digital sketching and prototyping tools (e.g. Axure)
- Is opinionated yet humble and receptive to what others have to say
- Is a natural storyteller with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work onsite in NYC but willing to traveling to our headquarters in Wayne, NJ on a limited basis
Sr. Product Designer
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience designing desktop, mobile or web applications
- Is experienced designing complex or transactional interfaces (e.g. Retail, Finance)
- Advocates for the user
- Up to date regarding the latest visual design tools
- Thinks in terms of design systems and makes rational design decisions
- Understands the roll that motion and animation play making user experiences more usable
- Has good taste and an eye for color, use of space, and typography
- Highly detailed and has an inherent talent for creating simple, clear solutions
- Is opinionated yet humble and receptive to what others have to say
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work onsite in NYC but willing to traveling to our headquarters in Wayne, NJ on a limited basis
Mobile Development
The Opportunity
- Join a growing community of Product focused engineers dedicated to making buying toys and baby goods more than just a transaction but an exceptional and memorable experience that elevates the brand.
- Help build & optimize the mobile digital retail experience within the Toys & Babies “R” Us organization
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team using agile design methodologies to deliver native experiences for our customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build aspirational experiences that delight customers.
- Build shopping cart, native checkout and user generated content/social integration.
- Create a modular checkout SDK that scales.
- Build offline-first reactive mobile app with data sync and event handling capabilities.
Sr. iOS Developer
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Can work in a fast-moving Agile environment with focus on delighting the customer.
- Works closely with Product and UX designers incorporating clean architecture that divides a mobile app into distinct layers of responsibility.
- Preferably has experience in some of the following tools: Swift, Rx Swift, Alamofire, Realm, Typhoon, SDWebImage, Kingfisher, CocoaLumberJack, FLEX, Fabric.IO
- Optionally, has knowledge of VIPER, Visual Recognition APIs, Amazon Alexa Skill Kit/Google Home, Dash buttons or NLP.
Android Developer
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Can work in a fast-moving Agile environment with focus on delighting the customer.
- Works closely with Product and UX designers incorporating clean architecture that divides a mobile app into distinct layers of responsibility.
- Preferably has experience in some of the following tools: Java, Rx Java, Retrofit, Realm, Dagger, Butterknife, Glide, Picasso, Timber, Hugo, Stetho, LeakCanary, Fabric.IO, Guava.
- Optionally, has knowledge of VIPER, Visual Recognition APIs, Amazon Alexa Skill Kit/Google Home, Dash buttons or NLP.
