2020 Interventionist
At Practice Makes Perfect (PMP) we are passionate about leveling the playing field for some of our nation’s most deserving youth. What you’ll do
● Work closely with a small group of students in grades K-12 on skill acquisition in math, reading, or writing in a 45-minute to 1.5-hour session.
● Conduct weekly progress reports for each student and share outcomes with your site leader to drive achievement and positive change in your students’ lives.
● Join the active PMP Community and develop lasting relationships with students, teachers, faculty, and PMP staff.
● Enhance your own teaching abilities and professional skills by attending learning seminars offered by PMP throughout the year.
Who you are
We are looking for a current or recent college student who is interested and comfortable in K-8 grade Math, Reading, and Writing. Prior teaching experience is preferred, and there are some core values that we are also looking for. You are someone who strives for excellence, embraces innovation and connects with people. You are motivated by giving back and paying it forward. You care deeply, communicate with empathy and you are ready to disrupt the education status quo to create equal opportunity for all.

In addition to the learning seminars we offer throughout the year, you will be working in the classroom and sharing a community with other qualified and dedicated teachers and educators.
During your time as a new Interventionist, you will make $16.25/hr. After completing your first Interventionist program, you earn an additional 25 cents for each subsequent position. As you grow as an Interventionist, you may want to have additional responsibilities by becoming a Site Leader and earning a $2 raise. For our veteran Interventionists we also offer paid opportunities to serve as substitutes, take part in unique programs, or provide support to our staff.
