INTERN: Exciting Internship Position With Growing Social Justice Business

Exciting Internship Position With Growing Social Justice Business
Variant Strategies is a media and impact firm that supports leading organizations to achieve
social justice impact through innovative media and films, advocacy, design and marketing.
We leverage our background as frontline advocates, with deep experience working in and
leading nonprofits, and cutting-edge work in the field as grassroots entrepreneurs and
activists. We listen to, learn from, and incorporate the perspective of the people and
communities our partners want to serve to ensure meaningful results, not just headlines.

Some recent examples of our work include:
• We Have Rights: Developing We Have Rights, a know your rights film and advocacy
campaign for immigrants and bystanders on how to safely defend against interactions
with ICE, in 7 languages, with famous voice talent, reaching over 23 million people.

• Still in Prison: Producing, directing, and writing the centerpiece video for the campaign to
end a racist Jim Crow law in Oregon State. It told the story of a jailhouse lawyer who
fought to get the Supreme Court to strike the law down and was still fighting to help the
hundreds still in prison.

• (Coming soon) The Courtwatchers: an upcoming video in graphic novel style recruiting
all Americans to court watch by telling the story of PG County Maryland’s Courtwatching
program, which has over 200 volunteers. The score is by Fiona Apple and she and
Jesse Williams are the voices for the animation.
